Craft CMS website examples: 43 sites from major organisations

Craft CMS runs some genuinely surprising websites. The organisation that writes the web's standards, a photography brand more than a century old — and one of the oldest orchestras in America.

How we checked

Every claim on this page was re-checked by hand against the live site on 22 September 2026. Traffic figures are estimated monthly organic visits from AHREFs, pulled the same day. Where we could date a site's move to Craft CMS, we used the Wayback Machine and defined it as best we could. We are only human — so if you spot a mistake, please let us know!

What these sites have in common

An art museum, a fabric manufacturer and a sorority do not share a sector or a budget. What they share is a shape of problem, and it turns out to be common among large, established organisations.

Most run several kinds of content at once: exhibitions and collections, products and stockists, chapters and alumnae, articles and events. Most serve more than one audience from one site – and most have an archive that only grows and has to stay findable.

And in nearly every case, the people adding content day to day are curators, marketers or volunteers... not developers.

Craft CMS is built for that shape of problem:

  • Custom entry types let an organisation model an exhibition differently from a press release.
  • Tailored field layouts mean an editor only sees the fields relevant to what they are creating.
  • Relations let one entry reference another, so a product links to its stockists.
  • Multi-site handles regional and language variants from one set of content.

None of this is especially unique Craft CMS, but it explains why it keeps turning up on sites built this way.

W3C

  • Sector: Web standards body
  • Based in: International
  • Estimated traffic: ~247,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: June 20, 2023 (Estimated)
  • Built by: Studio 24
  • Live site: w3.org

The W3C, the World Wide Web Consortium, is the organisation that writes the technical standards the web runs on. CSS and the web accessibility guidelines are its work, and it shaped HTML for decades. So when it set out to rebuild its own website in 2020, a project that went live in June 2023, its choice of content management system was a considered one, and it chose Craft CMS.

That choice is useful to anyone deciding on a CMS. The W3C is not a marketing client with a product to sell. It is a neutral standards body, and it picked Craft CMS in the open, after a documented selection process. That is a stronger endorsement than any agency case study.

The digital agency Studio 24 built the site. They chose Craft CMS over WordPress and published exactly why, in a public post titled "On not choosing WordPress for the W3C redesign project"

If you are weighing those two platforms yourself, that post is worth reading, because it was written in the open, during the project, by the agency the W3C chose to make the call. We cover the same ground in our own Craft CMS vs WordPress comparison.

One technical note. Studio 24 built the site "headless". That means Craft CMS stores the content, but a separate application generates the pages a visitor actually sees.

Craft CMS features spotted: a headless build, Craft CMS paired with Symfony, with content type names such as blogPosts, newsArticles and pressReleases still visible in the site's response headers.

Our take

The W3C, the body that writes the web's accessibility rules, chose Craft CMS over WordPress in public. If you are weighing the same two platforms, that is the most useful fact on this page. Wondering which is right for your project?

Kodak

  • Sector: Imaging and photography
  • Based in: United States
  • Estimated traffic: ~155,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: not dated (a headless build leaves no footprint to date)
  • Built by: not identified
  • Live site: kodak.com

Kodak needs no introduction. A brand more than a century old, synonymous with photography, running its global site on Craft CMS in four languages.

The platform choice is sound. Kodak runs Craft CMS headless behind a modern front end, across English, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. The multilingual requirement is what justifies Craft CMS here, and it is a job the platform does well. Our Craft CMS vs Strapi piece explains why Craft CMS suits a headless, multi-language build like this.

Craft CMS features spotted: SEOmatic for search metadata, a headless Nuxt front end, and multi-site across four locales.

A24

  • Sector: Film studio
  • Based in: United States
  • Estimated traffic: ~285,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2018 (Estimated)
  • Built by: not identified
  • Live site: a24films.com

A24 is the studio behind Everything Everywhere All at Once, Moonlight and Hereditary. Its site holds a growing film catalogue and an editorial strand on Craft CMS, with the shop and the AAA24 membership sold through a separate Shopify store.

Holding a catalogue, editorial and a shop together without one feeling bolted on is genuinely hard, and A24 does it well even with the shop on a separate platform. The site is arty, photography led, and it fits the brand.

There is one odd thing under the bonnet. A24 is one of the few major sites on this page with no SEOmatic fingerprint. Most other large sites here run it. A24's pages carry standard title and social tags only, so either the team built their own SEO layer or they run without one.

Craft CMS features spotted:

  • None visible from outside.
  • No SEOmatic, the pages are served from Servd's static cache rather than a Craft caching plugin, and the shop is on Shopify, so there is no Commerce to detect.

Poetry Foundation

  • Sector: Publisher
  • Based in: United States
  • Estimated traffic: ~1,564,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2020 (Estimated)
  • Built by: Wolfco & Happy Cog
  • Live site: poetryfoundation.org

Here is a number that surprised us. The Poetry Foundation, publisher of Poetry magazine, does more than 1.5 million organic visits a month on Craft CMS. That is almost five times the next biggest site on this page.

Traffic at this scale has a practical cost worth naming, and this site solves it with a serious piece of decoupled engineering by two different specialist agencies. The engineering firm Wolfco built the backend, structuring the massive archive in Craft CMS and integrating Algolia to power the search. The digital agency Happy Cog then built the headless front end using Next.js, hosting it on Cloudflare Pages to absorb the sheer volume of traffic without breaking a sweat.

Traffic at this scale requires a busier, more powerful server and carefully configured caching. Get those right, and Craft CMS handles the volume without drama — and this is a masterclass in splitting the backend and front end to get the best out of both.

A site whose whole job is reading has to make reading pleasant, and this one does. It pairs a serif font with a sans serif, so a poem reads like a page in a newspaper.

Craft CMS features spotted:

  • Headless Next.js front end
  • SEOmatic
  • Edge caching tagged per entry (so the homepage refreshes whenever its featured content changes)

Van Morrison

  • Sector: Music
  • Based in: United Kingdom
  • Estimated traffic: ~15,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2018 (Estimated)
  • Built by: Eyekiller
  • Live site: vanmorrison.com

The official site of a genuine music legend, and it feels like it. This is one of the best executed sites on the whole list.

Everything about it signals quality: a strong masthead, confident typography, and a big, chunky layout. There are nice touches, like a fan of album covers that spread and re-stack as you move across them, and an upcoming shows module partway down the page, that reward you for scrolling.

Craft CMS features spotted: a Twig-rendered front end with custom interaction, plus links out to separate Shopify storefronts for merchandise.

MG Motor EU

  • Sector: Automotive
  • Based in: Europe
  • Estimated traffic: ~126,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2020 (Estimated)
  • Built by: not identified
  • Live site: mgmotor.eu

MG runs its European web presence on one shared Craft CMS build. The same build serves 29 country and language versions, from mgmotor.eu down to the French, German, Polish and Dutch sites, all sharing one content structure.

That is Craft CMS multi-site working at real scale, and it is the strongest example of it on this page. Running one shared build across a continent, rather than 29 separate sites, is exactly the sort of thing brand architecture planning is for.

The site is gorgeous, too. Video renders, strong product photography and slick interactions do justice to some genuinely beautiful cars (IMHO : )

Craft CMS features spotted:

  • Multi-site across 29 locales
  • SEOmatic

Bob's Red Mill

  • Sector: Food manufacturing
  • Based in: United States
  • Estimated traffic: ~238,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2026 (Estimated)
  • Built by: Brilliance
  • Live site: bobsredmill.com

Bob's Red Mill is a heritage flour and grain brand, and its site is one of the most attractive on this page. The logo is excellent, the photography is strong, and the colour is vibrant. The retro, American diner feel of the brand comes through nicely.

Craft CMS features spotted:

  • SEOmatic and Blitz caching.
  • Notably no e-commerce: there is no shop, a "Where to buy" page handles retailer discovery instead.

Bezos Earth Fund

  • Sector: Climate and nature philanthropy
  • Based in: United States
  • Estimated traffic: ~6,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2023 (Estimated)
  • Built by: Viget
  • Live site: bezosearthfund.org

Jeff Bezos (yes, that one) put ten billion dollars into this fund to tackle climate change and nature loss. So, well done Jeff for choosing Craft CMS.

Behind the site sits real substance: more than 200 grant pages, each its own Craft CMS entry, together recording 2.4 billion dollars of grants so far, by the fund's own count.

That is Craft CMS doing what it is best at, holding a large, growing, structured dataset that a team can manage without a developer.

Definitely the type of project that would need to start with strategy — not design: What are the goals, who are the audiences, who are the competitors. Then model the content around the answers.

Craft CMS features spotted:

  • Structured grant entries with custom fields
  • SEOmatic
  • Blitz Caching

Wolverine Worldwide

  • Sector: Footwear and apparel
  • Based in: United States
  • Estimated traffic: ~2,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: not dated
  • Built by: Locomotive
  • Live site: wolverineworldwide.com

Wolverine Worldwide is the parent company behind Merrell, Saucony, Chaco and Hush Puppies.

Its corporate site has one job: to make investors and partners take the group seriously as the house behind those brands.

And it absolutely does.

This is one of our favourite sites on the list. The typography and visual design are excellent — and it does real justice to the strong consumer brands sitting inside it.

Our only niggle is the scrolling gets highjacked with a "smooth scroll" (a pet peeve) effect rather than the native way a page moves.

Craft CMS features spotted: no SEO or caching plugin leaves a visible trace in the front end.

Playbill

  • Sector: Theatre and musicals media
  • Based in: United States
  • Estimated traffic: ~318,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2023 (Estimated)
  • Built by: not identified
  • Live site: playbill.com

Playbill is the daily bible of American theatre: news, listings, casting and a jobs board, published every day to a big audience.

Visually it is a lovely, clean, minimal site. Strong brand colour, generous white space, careful typography and clear hierarchy. We were genuinely impressed.

A daily newsroom asks things of a CMS that a brochure site never does, and Craft CMS handles them natively:

  • Multiple drafts of the same story, so several journalists can work in parallel.
  • Revisions, so every change is recorded and can be rolled back, the audit trail behind corrections.
  • A create versus publish split, where a writer can create and edit but only an editor can publish.
  • Scheduled publishing, so an embargoed story goes live on time by itself.

Craft CMS features spotted: SEOmatic, with the pages served through Cloudflare edge caching rather than a Craft caching plugin.

Turner Contemporary

  • Sector: Art gallery
  • Based in: United Kingdom
  • Estimated traffic: ~3,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2026 (Estimated)
  • Built by: One Darnley Road
  • Live site: turnercontemporary.org

An art gallery's own website is held to a higher visual bar than most, because it is, in effect, a piece of design in itself. This one clears the bar.

It does the classic museum thing well: it lets the artwork do the work. The photography is given room, the typographic layout is easy to take in, and the colour is handled nicely. The oversized logo is a confident touch that only an arts institution could carry off.

Craft CMS features spotted: a Servd-hosted Craft CMS build handling editorial content, with ticketing (Ticket Tailor), donations (Donorbox), the shop (Shopify) and newsletter (Mailchimp) each run by a separate specialist service.

Boston Symphony Orchestra

  • Sector: Performing arts
  • Based in: United States
  • Estimated traffic: ~47,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2022 (Estimated)
  • Built by: Upstatement (with ongoing development by Imarc)
  • Live site: bso.org

One of the oldest orchestras in America, and a good lesson in brand architecture. The Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Pops, Symphony Hall and the Tanglewood summer festival all live as separate sections of a single Craft CMS install — not four separate sites.

Craft Multi-site FTW (maybe?).

Craft CMS features spotted: a single Craft CMS install on Craft Cloud serving four brands, with ticketing and the archive handled on separate systems.

Barefoot Contessa

  • Sector: Food and lifestyle
  • Based in: United States
  • Estimated traffic: ~129,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2017 (Estimated)
  • Built by: Apartment One and Jonathan Melville
  • Live site: barefootcontessa.com

The home of Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa, and a quiet lesson in the power of content. This site does 129,000 visits a month off roughly 400 recipe pages. That is recipe content working hard as a search engine, and Craft CMS is set up well to get those pages found.

It has been on Craft CMS for nine years. Nine years on one platform, still working well, is exactly what you want. If it is not broken, do not fix it, and Craft CMS lets you keep upgrading the site over the same content without starting again.

The shop runs on Craft Commerce but mostly points visitors to Amazon and other retailers. With around 100 products and cookbooks to manage in one place, that is a sensible use of Commerce, and the site carries its own checkout page too, even though most product pages send you elsewhere.

Craft CMS features spotted: Craft Commerce, Blitz caching, and a large, well-structured recipe archive.

Ella's Kitchen

  • Sector: Baby and toddler food
  • Based in: United Kingdom
  • Estimated traffic: ~31,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2022 (Estimated)
  • Built by: Abstrakt
  • Live site: ellaskitchen.co.uk

Ella's Kitchen has one of the most distinctive brands on any supermarket shelf: hand drawn, playful, aimed squarely at tired parents.

Craft CMS features spotted: SEOmatic, running a direct-to-consumer Craft Commerce checkout.

Transparency International

  • Sector: Anti-corruption non-governmental organisation
  • Based in: Germany
  • Estimated traffic: ~36,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • Built by: Mutual
  • Live site: transparency.org

Transparency International publishes the Corruption Perceptions Index, the global benchmark for public sector corruption. Its site is a large research archive, and Craft CMS is a solid foundation for that.

Craft CMS features spotted: SEOmatic, Blitz caching, and a large structured archive, with the language versions incomplete.

Bristol Old Vic

  • Sector: Theatre
  • Based in: United Kingdom
  • Estimated traffic: ~24,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2019 (Estimated)
  • Built by: Supercool
  • Live site: bristololdvic.org.uk

A working theatre — and its website's real job is selling seats. The site leads with the shows, pulling the key images out to draw you in, and the photography and typography are engaging.

It is not a brochure, it is a shop window for what is on — exactly what a theatre site should be. And with the required content structuring Craft CMS earns its place here.

Craft CMS features spotted: a Craft CMS build served through a Cloudflare cache, with ticketing handled by Spektrix.

Welsh National Opera

  • Sector: Opera
  • Based in: United Kingdom
  • Estimated traffic: ~6,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2018 (Estimated)
  • Built by: Supercool
  • Live site: wno.org.uk

The Welsh National Opera performs in both Welsh and English — and its site is bilingual. A perfect fit for Craft.

Craft CMS features spotted: SEOmatic and Craft CMS multi-site, with the Welsh locale reusing English page names.

Nationalmuseum

  • Sector: Museum
  • Based in: Sweden
  • Estimated traffic: ~20,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2018 (Estimated)
  • Built by: not identified
  • Live site: nationalmuseum.se

As Sweden's national museum of art and design — in a country globally celebrated for its design heritage.

Craft CMS gives a national museum a sensible way to hold its collections, exhibitions and events in one place, and the build itself is very competent.

Craft CMS features spotted: SEOmatic, Imager X for image handling, and Craft CMS multi-site for Swedish and English.

Polartec

  • Sector: Performance textiles
  • Based in: United States
  • Estimated traffic: ~11,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2021 (Estimated)
  • Built by: Bonfire Studios
  • Live site: polartec.com

Polartec makes the performance fabrics inside other companies' outdoor gear. Making fabric feel desirable online is a unique challenge.

It leans into a strong aesthetic, using bold, chunky typography and adventurous video to set the right mood.

Beneath the surface, Craft CMS is doing excellent work, smoothly managing the structured catalogue of fabric technologies with Blitz caching and SEOmatic in place. The technical foundation is a great fit.

Craft CMS features spotted:

Maxon

  • Sector: 3D and visual effects software
  • Based in: Germany
  • Estimated traffic: ~327,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2021 (Estimated)
  • Built by: Foster Commerce
  • Live site: maxon.net

Maxon makes Cinema 4D and other tools used across film and motion design. It runs Craft CMS headless behind a modern front end, at around 327,000 visits a month.

For a software company with a large, varied catalogue serving a creative audience, Craft CMS is a suitable choice. It gives the flexibility to model products, tutorials and news differently while keeping them in one place. And they're taking a headless approach — rather than the out-the-box native Twig templating.

Craft CMS features spotted: a headless Nuxt front end, SEOmatic, with a separate application handling checkout.

ActiveCampaign

  • Sector: Marketing automation software
  • Based in: United States
  • Estimated traffic: ~240,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2025 (Estimated)
  • Built by: not identified
  • Live site: activecampaign.com

ActiveCampaign sells marketing software, so its own site is a shop window for whether it understands marketing. It feels slick, and at around 240,000 visits a month it is a serious operation.

Craft CMS features spotted: SEOmatic and Craft CMS multi-site across six languages, migrated from a previous WordPress build.

Avigilon

  • Sector: Video surveillance and security
  • Based in: Canada
  • Estimated traffic: ~143,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2024 (Estimated)
  • Built by: not identified
  • Live site: avigilon.com

Avigilon sells enterprise security and surveillance hardware — a market that buys on trust and seriousness. And choosing Craft was a great choice vs Wordpress (the most hacked CMS in the world)

It has the right ingredients: clear value points, a section for each product line, customer testimonials.

Craft CMS features spotted: Blitz caching and Craft CMS multi-site across 13 locales.

Earth's Best

  • Sector: Baby and toddler food
  • Based in: United States
  • Estimated traffic: ~10,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2025 (Estimated)
  • Built by: Abstrakt
  • Live site: earthsbest.com

Earth's Best is a US organic baby food brand.

Craft CMS features spotted:

  • SEOmatic and Blitz caching.
  • The site also publishes AI-readable versions of its pages.

Smokey Bear

  • Sector: Public wildfire prevention
  • Based in: United States
  • Estimated traffic: ~8,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2026 (Estimated)
  • Built by: not identified
  • Live site: smokeybear.com

Smokey Bear has been America's wildfire prevention mascot for more than 80 years, and this site has to speak to families and children about a serious subject.

Craft CMS is running a multi-site setup and shows English and Spanish versions of the campaign from one install — so the safety message reaches both audiences from a single content source.

Craft CMS features spotted: SEOmatic and Craft CMS multi-site for English and Spanish.

Wellesley College

  • Sector: Higher education
  • Based in: United States
  • Estimated traffic: ~52,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2025 (Estimated)
  • Built by: Fastspot, credited in the site's own schema markup
  • Live site: wellesley.edu

A well-regarded US liberal arts college.

Craft CMS features spotted: SEOmatic, on a Servd-hosted Craft CMS build.

DPR Construction

  • Sector: Construction
  • Based in: United States
  • Estimated traffic: ~8,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2020 (Estimated)
  • Built by: not identified
  • Live site: dpr.com

DPR is a large US commercial builder, and its website should inspire confidence in a serious buyer.

This is a site of more than 3,000 pages across three languages — running the Sprig plugin for reactive content — which is a serious content operation.

Craft CMS features spotted: Craft CMS multi-site across three languages.

FutureBrand

  • Sector: Brand consultancy
  • Based in: United Kingdom
  • Estimated traffic: ~2,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2017 (Estimated)
  • Built by: not identified
  • Live site: futurebrand.com

FutureBrand is a global brand consultancy. The real content is the client work — and it looks great. The site frame the work cleanly and then gets out of the way — and it with a nice, minimal design and a good navigation.

We especially liked the accessibility mode — a toggle that raises contrast and calms the animation. It signals that accessibility is a core value of theirs.

Craft CMS features spotted: SEOmatic and Imager X, on Craft CMS since 2017 — the longest datable run on this page.

Norwegian Bible Society

  • Sector: Religious publisher
  • Based in: Norway
  • Estimated traffic: ~41,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2021 (Estimated)
  • Built by: not identified
  • Live site: bibel.no

The Norwegian Bible Society, which publishes and sells Bibles — is a neat example of Craft CMS's flexibility.

The Bible itself is modelled as a product type in Craft Commerce, alongside articles and books.

The site is set up for five languages, including two Sami languages and English, from one install.

Craft CMS features spotted: Craft Commerce with custom product types, SEOmatic and five configured sites.

Adelaide Festival Centre

  • Sector: Performing arts venue
  • Based in: Australia
  • Estimated traffic: ~11,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2023 (Estimated)
  • Built by: Simple
  • Live site: adelaidefestivalcentre.com.au

Australia's first capital city arts centre.

Craft CMS features spotted: Blitz caching and SEOmatic — ticketing handled externally by Ticketek.

Plimoth Patuxet Museums

  • Sector: Living history museum
  • Based in: United States
  • Estimated traffic: ~24,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2022 (Estimated)
  • Built by: Dative
  • Live site: plimoth.org

Plimoth Patuxet is a living-history museum telling the story of 17th century Plymouth and the Wampanoag people side by side.

For a museum like this, Craft CMS earns its money in the content model. Opening times and events, yes — but more importantly the rich, structured content that pulls a museum into search and — increasingly into AI answers.

Ticketing is handed off to a separate specialist system and that is a fair trade rather than an ideal. Craft Commerce is great — but ticketing specifically is a known pain point — so a trusted third-party service can be a solid call like this one uses.

Craft CMS features spotted: Blitz caching, Imager X, with ticketing on an external booking platform (CenterEdge).

The Moth

  • Sector: Storytelling charity
  • Based in: United States
  • Estimated traffic: ~14,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: around 2020 (Estimated)
  • Built by: not identified
  • Live site: themoth.org

The Moth is the storytelling charity behind the famous live events and the radio hour. And this is the clearest "why Craft CMS" example on the whole page.

Inside the site sits a directory of more than 540 public radio stations across all 50 states and Washington DC, telling you where and when to listen.

There is nothing off-the-shelf that does that. It has been built as a bespoke — flexible content structure — exactly what Craft CMS is for.

The build tells you how much the organisation leans on the site: bespoke forms, a specialist Craft host, and a directory no off-the-shelf product could give it.

This is a well thought through build for an organisation that delivers its content through its website.

Craft CMS features spotted: the Formie forms plugin, on a Servd-hosted build.

New York Hall of Science

  • Sector: Science museum
  • Based in: United States
  • Estimated traffic: ~4,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2022 (Estimated)
  • Built by: Antarctic
  • Live site: nysci.org

A large science museum in Queens.

Mingei International Museum

  • Sector: Folk art and craft museum
  • Based in: United States
  • Estimated traffic: ~2,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2020 (Estimated)
  • Built by: Raygun
  • Live site: mingei.org

A San Diego museum of folk art and craft, with a clever, thrifty piece of engineering under the bonnet.

This site serves images through a Cloudflare Worker — a small program that caches and delivers them at speed — while Craft CMS does the resizing. That is a smart, low-cost solution.

Craft CMS features spotted:

  • A custom Cloudflare Worker image pipeline.

Kappa Alpha Theta

  • Sector: Collegiate sorority
  • Based in: United States
  • Estimated traffic: ~2,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2019 (Estimated)
  • Built by: not identified
  • Live site: kappaalphatheta.org

An American collegiate sorority, whose site has to speak to prospective members, current students and alumnae at once.

Craft CMS features spotted: the Formie forms plugin is installed.

Barnes Foundation

  • Sector: Art museum
  • Based in: United States
  • Estimated traffic: ~14,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2018 (Estimated)
  • Built by: AREA 17
  • Live site: barnesfoundation.org

The Barnes Foundation holds one of the world's great post-impressionist collections.

The design has the confidence to let the artwork lead, with large areas given over to the work on the homepage. It leads with what is on and how to visit — because the site's job is to turn website visitors into museum visitors.

The navigation is a model worth borrowing: four plain top-level links (What's On, Plan Your Visit, Our Collection, Take a Class) with a hamburger overlay for people who want more. Simple on the surface, deep underneath.

Craft CMS features spotted: SEOmatic, with the online collection running as a separate application at collection.barnesfoundation.org rather than inside Craft.

Central Park Conservancy

  • Sector: Parks and public space
  • Based in: United States
  • Estimated traffic: ~62,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2021 (Estimated)
  • Built by: not identified
  • Live site: centralparknyc.org

The charity that cares for Central Park runs its site on Craft CMS.

Craft CMS features spotted: the Freeform forms plugin, a plant database as a custom content type, and at least two further Craft CMS sites within the same setup.

Arabica

  • Sector: Coffee retail
  • Based in: Hong Kong
  • Estimated traffic: ~4,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: not dated
  • Built by: not identified
  • Live site: arabicacoffee.hk

Arabica is the Kyoto coffee brand built on extreme minimalism, founded in 2014 and now franchised worldwide. The brand landed in Hong Kong in 2017, and the franchise runs its own website on Craft CMS.

Head office's site is not on Craft. It runs WordPress. (Boo!)

What Craft CMS does here is real work: a transacting Craft Commerce shop for beans, gift sets and merchandise, priced in Hong Kong dollars, alongside pages for its cafés across Hong Kong and mainland China, and a Traditional Chinese version of the whole site.

That is a great setup for a franchise; one install holding the shop, the venues and both languages.

Craft CMS features spotted:

  • Craft Commerce with a live checkout,

  • Craft CMS multi-site for English and Traditional Chinese

Brickability Group

  • Sector: Building materials
  • Based in: United Kingdom
  • Estimated traffic: ~4,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2023 (Estimated)
  • Built by: not identified
  • Live site: brickability.co.uk

Brickability is a building materials group listed on the London Stock Exchange.

The site is a tidy Craft CMS build — and the investor relations section runs on its own separate Craft CMS install too.

CALM

  • Sector: Mental health charity
  • Based in: United Kingdom
  • Estimated traffic: ~11,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2023 (Estimated)

  • Live site: thecalmzone.net

Campaign Against Living Miserably is a charity whose most important job online is getting someone to support quickly.

Donations are handled by a dedicated donation app on its own subdomain rather than built into Craft CMS, with JustGiving as the fallback if scripts do not load.

Craft CMS features spotted: a Servd-hosted Craft CMS build, with the helpline, webchat and donations each run outside the CMS.

Bill Nye

  • Sector: Science communication
  • Based in: United States
  • Estimated traffic: ~7,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2019 (Estimated)
  • Built by: Varve Studios
  • Live site: billnye.com

Bill Nye the 'Science Guy' is pure energy and personality.

Behind the scenes Craft CMS runs a substantial archive: the full run of Science Guy episodes alongside dozens of at-home science demos, all modelled as structured, browsable content.

That is a genuine job for a CMS — and exactly what the platform is built for.

Craft CMS features spotted: SEOmatic for search, with the episode and demo archive modelled as structured content.

The Invitation, for Google Pixel Fold

  • Sector: Consumer technology campaign
  • Based in: United Kingdom
  • Estimated traffic: negligible organic search (as expected for a campaign microsite)
  • Built by: Honcho
  • Live site: theinvitation.ajaychowdhury.com

The agency Ogilvy came to us on behalf of Google, launching the Pixel Fold phone, and wanted an interactive murder-mystery book to show it off.

We built it, headless, on Craft CMS.

It is proof that Craft CMS is not only for content-heavy websites. It powers campaigns and interactive experiences too, and a marquee product launch is about as demanding a brief as they come.

Craft CMS features spotted: Matrix content fields and nested entries, powering a chapter-based story, served through a fast app-style front end.

Zip World

  • Sector: Adventure tourism
  • Based in: United Kingdom
  • Estimated traffic: ~138,000 organic visits/month (Ahrefs)
  • On Craft CMS since: 2025
  • Built by: Honcho
  • Live site: zipworld.co.uk

Zip World runs zip lines and adventure attractions across the UK, and the brief needed a genuinely unique site structure. Craft CMS did the heavy lifting there, letting us build the exact content model they needed.

The booking itself is handled by a separate specialist system, and that is a deliberate choice allowing that system to do the complicated parts, the bookings, the waivers, the instructions.

The website builds the excitement and drives the demand. The booking system takes it from there. Clean separation of responsibilities.

Craft CMS features spotted: custom entry types and a shared component library across activities and locations, with Blitz caching, linking out to a dedicated booking system.

Oxford Character Project

  • Sector: Higher education
  • Based in: United Kingdom
  • On Craft CMS since: 2022
  • Built by: Honcho
  • Live site: oxfordcharacter.org

The Oxford Character Project runs leadership programmes at the University of Oxford. They wanted to showcase their alumni, so we modelled each one as its own entry.

That is roughly 180 individual profile pages and it is exactly the kind of thing Craft CMS is built for: a repeating content type an editor can grow and manage without a developer.

Craft CMS features spotted: Blitz caching, imgix for image handling, and structured profile entries as the core content model.

A closing thought

Craft CMS turns up on this range of sites for a reason. It does not force a shape onto your content. It lets you model exactly what you have, whether that is a film catalogue, a fabric range, a grants database or a directory of 540 radio stations, and it lets a non-technical team run it afterwards.

The best sites here use that flexibility with a clear strategy and real design behind it.

FAQs

Craft is used by museums, orchestras, universities, manufacturers, charities and campaign sites, alongside the design studios it is best known for. What draws larger organisations in is not price but flexibility: anywhere content is varied, an archive keeps growing, and non-technical editors manage it, Craft is a realistic option.

Check the technical footprint rather than trusting a case study page, since sites do migrate away. The strongest signals are a cpresources folder in the site's asset paths, a CRAFT_CSRF_TOKEN hidden input in a form, and a CraftSessionId cookie. An X-Powered-By response header naming Craft is useful when present, but plenty of production sites switch it off through the sendPoweredByHeader setting, so its absence proves nothing.

One honest caveat. A headless Craft build serving its front end through Nuxt, Next or Astro will show none of these signals, so it looks identical from the outside to a site that has left Craft altogether. Footprint checking reliably confirms Craft is present. It cannot reliably prove Craft is absent.

Often, yes, and it is how we researched this page. SEOmatic leaves metadata fingerprints, the Blitz caching plugin is frequently named in a site's markup, and Craft Commerce announces itself in a site's technical headers. Membership and form plugins leave similar traces. It is not exhaustive, but it reveals a lot about how a site is built.

Yes. Craft has no fixed content structure, so it can model an archive of thousands of entries, several audiences on one domain, or a multi-region site, without contorting a blog template to fit.

The trade-off is that a large Craft build depends more on how well it is planned and developed, since there is no default structure to fall back on.
